People of the Sea
In this project we will mainly learn about the complexity involved in obtaining fish and shellfish from the coasts of Barcelona, not only because of the economic expense, such as the maintenance of the boat or the specialized equipment, but also because of the physical wear and tear of the marine. Due to the fact that their working hours are extended to more than twelve hours a day during the week. In addition, it deals with the existing generational problem in this sector and the environmental repercussions, caused by pollution on the Catalan coasts.
To this end, all the stages have been monitored: from the sailors setting sail in the early hours of the morning, passing through the distribution of fish and shellfish at the fish market and in Mercabarna to its sale in local fishmongers.
As protagonists of the report we will know the work of different workers who are directly or indirectly dedicated to the sea.
